Constructive Ideas Generator

The Constructive Ideas Generator is a chatbot that the Bonn Institute developed as part of the Constructive AI Compass project. It is a GPT hosted by OpenAI. The bot is based on the principles of constructive journalism and is designed to help develop constructive and solution-oriented ideas. Various publications from the Bonn Institute were used to train it. We also manually trained the digital assistant in multiple rounds.

This bot is nothing less and nothing more than a tool. It is now up to you to decide how to use it. In the “Constructive prompt engineering” chapter of the Constructive AI Compass booklet, we explain the limits of AI and why we advise against asking AI for facts or letting it generate articles independently. We also explain where biases come from and the environmental impacts we should consider when using AI.

The Constructive Ideas Generator is designed to be an experiment. We cannot guarantee the correctness or usefulness of its answers. You may also find you need to actively lay out some parameters for your specific use case, such as specifying the language you want the GPT to respond to you in. However, we would be delighted if you would take part in this experiment and send us feedback so that we can continue to develop the bot. We look forward to seeing how you use it!
